Sustainability

The National Capital Chapter of ASHRAE has a Sustainability Committee dedicated to the following objectives: 

  • Promote sustainable design education within and outside of the A/E/C community
  • Encourage and promote research related to energy efficiency and IEQ
  • Provide other major environmental organizations, such as USGBC, with support and technical resources
  • Represent ASHRAE at high-performance building events
  • Support ASHRAE’s efforts to strengthen building simulation and energy benchmarking
  • Support community volunteering initiatives in the region
  • Reduce the environmental footprint of chapter activities

ASHRAE NCC is partnering with Habitat for Humanity NoVA! Please join us for ASHRAE build day on February 11th from 8:45am to 3:15pm. We are looking for volunteers to help build a townhome for a family in need in Reston, VA.

Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia (Habitat NOVA) brings our communities together to build decent, affordable housing – and provide hope – for people in need. Habitat NOVA provides a “hand up” to homeownership through sweat equity, donor generosity, volunteer labor and interest-free mortgages.
