DESCRIPTION:NCC ASHRAE and ASHRAE Region 3 November Virtual PES\nPDH certificates will be provided for attending this event. \nTheme:  Research Promotion \nTopic: ASHRAE Basics – Organizational Structure and Volunteer Opportunities \nWhen: Wednesday\, November 12th\, 2025 \n\n12:00 PM - 1:00 PM EDT\n\nWhere: Virtual meeting link will be provided upon registration. \n\n\n	\n\n\n	Professional Education Seminar (PES)\nASHRAE Basics – Organizational Structure and Volunteer Opportunities\nThis presentation offers an inside look at ASHRAE’s organizational structure\, emphasizing how the Society’s governance and volunteer leadership drive its mission. You will gain insight into the critical roles played by the Board of Directors\, councils\, and committees and local chapters\, which together form a collaborative network for shaping policy\, developing standards\, and spearheading technical initiatives. Understanding these layers of leadership will enable you to get the most out of your ASHRAE membership. \n\nThere are many engagement opportunities at all levels of ASHRAE membership. Volunteer participation not only supports the building science community but also helps members build professional networks\, influence industry advancements\, and develop leadership skills essential for career growth. This talk will also highlight ASHRAE’s comprehensive portfolio of technical activities and how these resources can keep you current with emerging technologies\, boost your credentials\, and advance your careers. \n\n\n\n			\n	\n	\n				\n					\n	\n\n\n			\n	\n	David Yashar\, Deputy Director of the Standards Coordination Office at the National Institute of Standards and Technology\nDave Yashar is an At-Large Member of ASHRAE’s Board of Directors and is also an ASHRAE Fellow. He performed research on domestic refrigerators\, heat pumps\, and various HVAC&R components for 15 years with the goal of advancing standards to enable more efficient\, reliable\, and intelligent equipment. He then moved from independent research to managing NIST’s Building Energy and Environment Division\, whose research portfolio spans a wide range of equipment\, controls\, renewable energy and air quality issues for residential and commercial buildings. He became the Deputy Director of NIST’s Standards Coordination Office in January 2024\, which enables effective engagement in the various activities within the standardization space. \n\n\n\n	\n\n	\n\n\n	Please note: The tickets below are ONLY for the Virtual PES.  \nDinner Presentation tickets must be purchased separately!
