Hot Water Electrification with Large Tonnage Heat Pumps

This presentation is an introduction into how existing large tonnage chiller technology is being tailored to produce hot water at temperatures up to 180F. It will explore heat pump chiller operating characteristics, efficiencies and economics, as well as some basic ways to implement heat pump chillers into existing systems.

Ryan Cleary, PE, Sales Engineer for HVAC Equipment at Johnson Controls. 

Ryan has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech. He spent 4 years working in HVAC Design before transitioning to a sales role for the last 4 years at JCI. In his current role he helps consulting engineers and mechanical contractors design and specify equipment for a wide range of projects.
