ASHRAE Basics – Organizational Structure and Volunteer Opportunities
This presentation offers an inside look at ASHRAE’s organizational structure, emphasizing how the Society’s governance and volunteer leadership drive its mission. You will gain insight into the critical roles played by the Board of Directors, councils, and committees and local chapters, which together form a collaborative network for shaping policy, developing standards, and spearheading technical initiatives. Understanding these layers of leadership will enable you to get the most out of your ASHRAE membership.
There are many engagement opportunities at all levels of ASHRAE membership. Volunteer participation not only supports the building science community but also helps members build professional networks, influence industry advancements, and develop leadership skills essential for career growth. This talk will also highlight ASHRAE’s comprehensive portfolio of technical activities and how these resources can keep you current with emerging technologies, boost your credentials, and advance your careers.
