New Construction to Existing Buildings: Roadmaps for Decarbonization
The presentation will focus on key milestones of a building decarbonization roadmap whether beginning fresh in new construction or jumping in on an existing building. We will highlight key and supporting actions that can be taken to decarbonize your client's buildings or portfolios, emphasizing the use of low-carbon materials, electrification of fossil fuel-based end uses, and quite simply the importance of efficient design and construction. Thinking first efficiency, not just first cost.The roadmap will be presented as a useful framework for outlining the suite of policies and changes needed to achieve decarbonization goals and the national and local regulations driving EUI Target achievement and emissions reduction.
Rock Ridolfi – Associate, EEI
Rock joined EEI as an Associate following the acquisition of Rivion in early 2023. He brings 14+ years’ experience working in the building performance analysis and commissioning industry. As an Associate, Rock is responsible for the daily operations of EEI's Wisconsin branch and the experienced team of building consultants, energy engineers, and commissioning agents.
Notably, Rock has been involved on projects around the globe, including those pursuing LEED, WELL, Fitwel certification, and PACE financing, totaling 200+ certifications and 60+ million square feet in both New Construction and Existing Buildings.
Beyond project work, Rock remains actively engaged within the industry, serving as the Chair of the USGBC Water Efficiency Technical Advisory Group 2022-2024 and as a committee member for ASHRAE 189.1 Standard for the Design of High-Performance Green Buildings.
